Thanks Dick and Gero for your comments and sharing of weblinks What I am questioning is the term Sustainability with reference to that of the city. From what I gather from the discussion here is that we are talking more in terms of Environmental ...

Hi Horo and Dick, I certainly agree with Dick's last comment. Sustainability can become the image of the place itself - and a very powerful one, which is somewhat the reversal of Horo's original thought. Sustainability will in the end always be dr...

I am a bit late with this reaction: If we talk about sustainibility and marketing and branding of cities, we can also identify the cities that focus on their contribution to the environment ( reduction of CO2) as the most important element of bran...

Thanks for your quick comment Dick. Agree that Place branding will help attract investments in line with the shared brandvision and brandvalues. I suppose this then gets me to ask the following question: What is a Sustainable City? Am just trying ...

Thanks Horo for your note in regards to the Israel 21c website. It is a most creative way to combat the world's misconcept re the nature of the national brand called Israel. No doubt, Israel has a severe image problem, or rather call it a challenge, which calls for a Repositioning Strategy ASAP ! How about your studio contributing in this matter ?! Let's keep in touch my friend.

I think the "balance part" is what makes it outstanding between all the "(creative-) tensions" and "opposites" in communication of places..

Great to meet you here Horo!

Horo, would it be a good idea to post some thoughts on the incredible india campaign? (I am still a fan, it would be nice to have some great visual content, though I didn't get how to uppload pictures yet... öh :))
warm regards, Meike

well, there are some older formats, that you would call public diplomacy initiatives today: city parterships, international networks etc. have exactly that aim - in the few cases where they are filled with content. Berlin, for example, is deeply involved in the UNESCO creative city network as a "city of design". in a sense this is nothing more than a public diplomacy initiative strengthening ties among cities, independent of the nation-state.

I knew we could count on you! A heartfelt welcome. Will you be the first to post some content? Also, we can add groups, threads, blogs, photos etc. Any feedback welcome. Gero
